Top 5 Performances From The 2014 Billboard Awards [+ Winners]!

2014 billboard awards

Men lie, women lie. Numbers don’t, especially in the music world. This is why the Billboard Awards has such prominence in music, because it lets the numbers speak for themselves. 2014 was no different has the awards held the biggest names in music over the last year including Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Pitbull, and Katy Perry. Hosted by Ludacris, this years show was definitely a snoozer, but it still led to some memorable moments including bringing back the dead, a cry for love, and a birthday party. Peep the performances that I enjoyed the most below, and the winners!

1. Michael Jackson Hologram
The most memorable (and eerie) part of the night came from the King Of Pop. Yes, Michael Jackson made his way to the Billboard Awards in the form of a Hologram. Performing his new record Slave To The Rhythm, although Michael was a hologram, the dancers around him were all real, which made it spooky and cool at the same time. As a Jackson fan, so many emotions ran through my mind including being downright happy, scared, and sad: all in one. Yet, as we have all said time and time again, Michael continues to live on through his music!

2. Katy Perry Birthday Party
If it isn’t your birthday, Katy Perry is going to make sure you party like it is anyways! Although she could not be live in Vegas, Perry was shown at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena in the UK performing her latest single Birthday. This color-filled bash ended with Perry flying through the air, as balloons fall through the crowd. If you did not want to go to Perry’s Prismatic tour this summer before, this performance will change your mind.

3. Robin Thicke Attempts To Get Her Back
Paula Patton was so done with Robin Thicke’s lying, cheating ways that she seperated from him earlier this year. Yet, while 2013 was the year of Thicke stepping out, he is now aiming to get his lady back. Performing his new track Get Her Back, Thicke pours our his heart and soul for the love of his life. I do hope this couple gets back on track soon, but until then, Thicke can keep giving us these emotional ballads.

4. Jason Derulo Talks Dirty
Introduced by girlfriend Jordin Sparks, Jason Derulo urbanized the award show, performing various tracks from his Talk Dirty album, including Talk Dirty, Marry Me, and Wiggle with Snoop Dogg.

5. Jennifer Lopez Reflects On Her First Love
Before receiving the Icon Award, Jennifer Lopez gives us a Diana Ross-esque performance as she slayed with her new single First Love. Though her first couple of singles might have struggled to catch the fans attention, this performance definitely won many over.
