Sometimes your oldest creations can still relate to modern times. For Lauryn Hill, who is one artist never to shy away from controversial topics, her latest release, Black Rage, is one that resonates more now, than when she wrote it. Although Black Rage is two years old, the recent events in Ferguson, Missouri have led Hill to release the full track, which comes as this week’s powerful Inspirational Sunday!
Sounding just like Nina Simone, Black Rage does a play on The Sound of Music’s My Favorite Things, as she sings on how the rage we have in us was fed through the various injustices that African-American’s have experienced over the years! This Inspirational Sunday, I challenge you all to take any rage you have inside of you and use it wisely to make a difference and change in this hateful world!
